CALEDONIA, Wis. — Police in southeastern Wisconsin are trying to reach the former owner of a property where a worker reported finding jars of human remains.

Caledonia police said the home was owned by a doctor who moved out of state about seven years ago. Lt. Gary Larsen said the jars of remains were found in a shed last week by a woman working at the property. He said the woman told some friends, who took photos and later called police.

The Racine Journal Times reported that the photos show what appear to be an eyeball, brain and another unidentified organ in formaldehyde.

Police said when they went to investigate, the jars were gone. Larsen said it appears to be a burglary.
