Two brothers, ages 6 and 9, were found safe this morning after they ran away from their South Shore home because they didn't want to clean their room, police said.

The boys had last been seen playing basketball in the area of 1700 East 68th Street Sunday afternoon, according to an alert issued by police.

The boys told authorities they hid in bushes near their home Sunday night because they did not want to clean their room, police said.
The brothers were reunited with their mother after they showed up at the home of their babysitter at 85th and Saginaw this morning, police said. The babysitter alerted the mother, who showed up at the home, police said.
