Convicted in the slaying of a former Schaumburg High School football player during a botched robbery, a Hanover Park man apologized for the killing before a Cook County judge on Wednesday sentenced him to 35 years in prison.
But Jeffery Ziegler, the father of the victim, refused to accept Matthew Zucco’s apology, and said after the hearing in Rolling Meadows branch court that he had hoped for a longer sentence. (I think they should dig up his son,Joseph Ziegler, and give him a few years in jail too for selling all those teens their weed...and daddy too for allowing the kid to do it out of the family home)
“I knew the apology was for the judge,” said Ziegler, whose only son, Joseph, was shot and killed in September of 2008 at the family’s home. “I don’t believe it was for me. I don’t feel we wanted an apology.”
