A longtime city employee died today after she was found a day earlier trapped under an industrial riding lawnmower while working on Green Bay’s far west side.
Donna R. Lucht, a 14-year veteran of the city’s streets division, was injured Tuesday afternoon while performing mowing operations, the city released in a statement today.
Lucht called 911 but was unable to provide her exact location due to trouble breathing and was later found underneath the lawnmower. She was taken to St. Vincent Hospital where she later died.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and the loss of a great employee. Donna was a loyal, caring employee who will be missed by city employees and the Green Bay community. We continue to pray for her family during this extremely difficult time,” Mayor Jim Schmitt said in a statement released this afternoon.
Lucht had worked for the city a total of 22 years.
Funeral details will be released when available.
